About Us

Children sitting with Santa in a decorated interior space.

Sit down at the Rice Lake Elks Lodge on a Friday night and you'll understand immediately why this place has earned a 4.6-star rating across 67 reviews. The Good Friday fish fry alone draws a crowd, offered in two sizes with live music from local acts like Home Again playing 60s folk in the background. It's the kind of evening that doesn't happen by accident.

The building sits right on the lake, and the view from inside stops people mid-sentence no matter the season. Summer brings shimmering water and open skies; winter turns the scene into something quieter and just as striking. The staff here are genuinely welcoming, not in a scripted way, but in the way of a place that's been part of downtown Rice Lake long enough to mean it.

Membership runs around $100 a year, which makes the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks one of the most accessible civic organizations in the area. That fee connects you to a national brotherhood with deep charitable roots, plus a local lodge that gives you a reason to show up on a Tuesday just as much as a Friday.

What We Offer

The lodge functions as one of the only spots in Rice Lake where you can grab a meal and a drink with a genuine lakefront view. The kitchen turns out solid, satisfying food at fair prices, and the bar keeps things simple and social. Friday fish fries are a seasonal highlight, drawing regulars and newcomers alike for generous portions and a lively atmosphere.

Beyond the dining room, the lodge operates as a full event venue for banquets, celebrations, and community gatherings. The space accommodates groups of varying sizes, and the team brings real hospitality to every function. Live music nights and seasonal events keep the calendar active year-round.

Membership in the BPOE opens access to lodge facilities, member pricing, and a network of Elks lodges across the country. The charitable mission runs through everything, from local scholarships to veteran support programs, so your membership dollar does double duty.

"Good Friday fish fry -- nice that it's available in two sizes. Good food, good prices, good service -- and we enjoyed the live music: 60's folk music by the local band Home Again."

"Have been fortunate to visit a few times now. It's a great place to visit. The view is amazing no matter the season. The staff is very welcoming. If you're in downtown Rice Lake, which I would recommend if you're in the area or passing through, you definitely need to stop in if you get the chance. A great piece of history in the Northwoods."

"One of the only places to grab a bite and drink on the lake. The view is spectacular and the food and drinks are good too. Membership is definitely affordable at ~$100 a year and you get to be part of an organization that is helping the community. To check it out and/or join, ask a current member to bring you or stop by and tell the bartender you're considering joining."

"The Elk's Lodge in Rice Lake is a fantastic venue, whether you want to rent it out for an event or go for dinner as a member. The food is all incredibly affordable ($2 giant tacos on Tuesdays, $3 burger's, etc.) And the views of Rice Lake are very nice. It feels like you are getting an upscale dining experience for an absolutely minimal cost."
